October 30, 2013 – PITTSFIELD - Greylock Insurance Agency (GIA) has announced that Jay L. Marion, Assistant Vice President, has been awarded the professional insurance designation, Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU®).
The award was made by The Institutes, an educational organization, which confers the CPCU designation on those who complete eight rigorous courses and examinations and meet its ethics and experience requirements.
All CPCUs are required to maintain and to improve their professional knowledge, skills and competence through their commitment to the CPCU Code of Professional Conduct.

Marion has more than 29 years of commercial and personal property and casualty insurance experience with a focus on General Liability, Automobile Fleet and Workers Compensation Insurance and also holds an Associate in General Insurance (AINS) designation. Prior to moving to Greylock, he was Vice President of Read Shaw Insurance Agency.
Marion is an active community volunteer. He has been a member of the Rotary Club of Pittsfield since 1995 and served as president 2003/2004. He is currently on the Board of Directors of the Rotary Club of Pittsfield, is Vice President of the Rotary Club of Pittsfield Foundation and is the Information Committee Chair. Marion is also active on the Rotary Club’s Auction Committee, Service Above Self Awards Committee, Membership Committee, Club Bulletin Committee and Gene Case Scholarship Committee. He is a volunteer with the Berkshire United Way and with the Gladys Allen Brigham Community Center, Inc. in a variety of capacities for the past nine years.
Marion resides in Pittsfield with his wife, Kelly and is the father of two grown sons and two step-sons.
