I am most inspired at Greylock by Jean Noel. As my first manager at Greylock when I started, she taught me about what it takes to be a successful woman. She showed me the morals, values and ethics it takes to mold and inspire people to be the best that they can be for themselves. Megan Hagen is one of the women managers I admire most at Greylock. She truly cares about developing her employees to do their best work, and to achieve their career goals. She leads by example, and never hesitates to hold difficult discussions. I am in awe of her ability to maintain her kind disposition and a smile on her face, even when faced with unexpected challenges.

Over the years, I have worked for several female bosses who were always good to me but never truly became mentors. This is not a bad thing, it just wasn’t my time. Mentoring is an investment; it’s a powerful tool. Sometimes individuals don’t even know that they are role models; a simple gesture or suggestion can make a lasting impression especially from a strong individual that you respect and look up to. I am fortunate, that over the past few years, there is one particular individual that I have worked with in different capacities who has empowered me. She has given me time, advice, words of wisdom, encouragement, challenged me, and most important believed in me. She is one that I look up to. This person has made a difference in my life, she is a boss, teammate, coach, friend and a “Greylock Woman” and I’m proud to work by her side. Stephanie Carlson has been a true ambassador for Greylock’s sales training program The Member Advantage.(r) Stephanie is a natural leader in the classroom, encouraging participants to share their own knowledge, experience, and fears about selling. Stephanie’s passion for the TMA program inspires me to be the best co-facilitator I can possibly be when we lead the workshops together.

Laurie Jamross is one of the most helpful people I know. Her job is much more challenging than people think and she juggles the phone, visitors, messy minutes, crazy ideas and then anything we throw at her. She is so steady and deliberate regarding the jobs she has. She never seems flustered.  She frequently asks us what more she can do for us. Laurie teaches me patience. She also is good at lifting the mood. Thank you Laurie.

One of the most remarkable women I have worked with is Pam Rote. She is such a strong person and has endured very much. She was struggling with a significant illness a few years ago. You would never have known she was sick. She showed up for work, participated in team activities and treated the team kindly. There are times when she would come to work with her hands full and her husband behind her carrying a cake she baked for the department. Watching her go through this taught me strength and resilience. She is a role model to me and I value every interaction I have with her.

I admire Lisa Trybus. During a staff transition, she stepped forward and took over the loan servicing department. She spends time understanding the tasks and the people and works with her team to make changes that benefit our members and improve the work life of her employees. Her approach makes people feel comfortable and she has a wonderful quiet leadership style that I admire, maybe even envy!

I want to recognize all of the hard work that Christy Martino does. I have had the privilege to work next to her and learn from her for the past year. Her amazing work ethic, and her love for her children inspires me every day. Thank you Christy!

There are many strong women in my department but 2 especially stand out because of their knowledge of Greylock, their work ethic and their ability to rise to any challenge. For some reason I have always thought of them as a dynamic duo because they work so well together. Amy and Heidi are invaluable to the Finance department and I’m honored to be part of their team.

Watching Jamie-Ellen Moncecchi blossom as a leader at Greylock has been one of my biggest joys this year.  She set goals for herself and is methodically working towards them. Balancing a family, night school and work is no easy task but Jamie comes in early every day looking bright eyed and ready to take on the world.  I admire her ability to balance all of her responsibilities. Her attention to detail is like no one else I know. She is an amazing role model to her two beautiful daughters and others at the Credit Union. When I think I can’t, I think about how she can and she inspires me to do better.

I admire Carol Hebert’s commitment to Greylock, her team and her sense of humor. When the going gets tough, Carol gets going. She has an amazing work ethic, comes in early each day and many days stays late to support her team and ultimately the member. But what I really love about her is her ability to make people laugh. She is such a beautiful spirit.

I began my banking career in 1971 and have had several female managers.  There is no comparison to the manager that I have today. In November, 2011, Jodi asked me to work with her in the Commercial Loan Department. My lucky day!! She has encouraged my development, she shares feedback and most importantly she recognizes my contributions to the team.

“People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel”. This is Jodi!! She is a wonderful, caring manager. She definitely is a “Greylock Woman” and I am so glad to be part of her team.
