February 9, 2015 – Pittsfield – Greylock Federal Credit Union (GFCU) announced that its annual United Way support surpassed previous records, with a total of $131,185. Greylock employees raised $100,185 through raffles, Shred Day, flower sales, Casino Night, employee recognition night, trivia night and employee payroll pledges. Ninety percent of employees donated to the 2014 campaign drive. Greylock provided corporate support for the campaign with $31,000, plus half the cost of the 2015 Ford Fiesta donated for the annual car raffle through Greylock’s partnership with Johnson Ford Lincoln Nissan.

Greylock President Marilyn L. Sperling acknowledged the efforts of Greylock’s staff on behalf of Berkshire United Way. “Greylock employees are a generous group, whether they are donating their time and money to important community efforts like the Berkshire United Way or other activities. The United Way plays an integral part in our community and once again I am very proud of the way our people came through for the annual campaign.”

The winner of the 2015 Ford Fiesta, donated by Greylock and Johnson Ford Lincoln Nissan, was Michael R. Mroz, Sr. of Williamstown who works for Onyx Papers. The car giveaway also marked the 15th year that Greylock Federal Credit Union and Johnson Ford Lincoln Nissan have sponsored the drawing which allows the winner to choose between a new car or cash. The winner was chosen at The Berkshire Chamber of Commerce’s monthly Chamber Nite event held at GFCU’s Main Office at 150 West Street on January 21.

Sperling thanked co-captains Kate Gelinas and Jane Curtin, as well as committee members: Terry Arpante, Kathleen Chenail, Dan Dillon, Eric Drayman, Anna Flynn, Joseph Maffuccio, Pete Mirante, Connie Menin, Gerry Murray, Jean Noel, Kathy O’Neil, Ann Palmer, Deb Prew, Sue Rapkowicz, Grace Vallone, and Deb Wagner. Devan Gardner and Ned Saviski served as BUW Workplace Campaign Executives during the Berkshire County campaign.
