September 23, 2013 – Great Barrington – Greylock Federal Credit Union has donated $10,000 to Berkshire South Regional Community Center in Great Barrington. Berkshire South will use the $10,000 to purchase food and supplies for its free Community Supper program.
Greylock President Marilyn L. Sperling said, “We are delighted to support the ongoing good work done by Berkshire South as they provide great food and social interaction to deserving citizens of South County. Berkshire South is an important presence in the community and Greylock is proud to partner with them.”
Jenise L. Lucey, Executive Director at Berkshire South said, “We are grateful to Greylock for this generous donation which will help us purchase food for our free weekly suppers. The guests who attend these meals look forward to the camaraderie as much as the great food and all are thankful to Greylock.”
The Community Supper began in 2009 as a monthly spaghetti meal prepared by staff and volunteers in the facility's kitchen. Now it is a weekly event and has served over 3,600 meals, prepared by some of the Berkshire’s finest chefs, who contribute their time to prepare delicious meals for the guests.
