September 18  – North Adams – Greylock Federal Credit Union has donated $50,000 to United Cerebral Palsy (UCP) of Berkshire County in North Adams. UCP has been offering programs and services for children and adults with physical and developmental disabilities and their families since 1961.

Greylock President Marilyn L. Sperling said, “It is our pleasure to support the ongoing good work done by United Cerebral Palsy of Berkshire County as they advocate for people with disabilities. UCP makes a vital contribution to the community by helping our most vulnerable citizens and Greylock is honored to partner with them.”

UCP will apply the $50,000 Greylock donation to its “Building for Tomorrow Capital Campaign” which is raising funds to renovate the UCP property at 535 Curran Highway in North Adams. This donation will fund work to bring the building into compliance with current ADA regulations, help UCP expand services and programming and build a playground.

Christine Singer, UCP Executive Director said, “Building for Tomorrow is a vital piece of UCP’s effort to maintain the continuum of care for individuals with physical and developmental disabilities. The demand for our services is growing in the northern Berkshires.  Greylock’s gift to the campaign is a huge boost for the people we work with and for UCP.”
