Did you know that Greylock offers a scholarship for high school students who exemplify community spirit and respect for their peers?
Greylock's Community Enrichment Scholarship awards young people who are involved in and care about where they live - it's another way that the credit union lives up to its values to care, educate, and inspire. Applications for the 2026 Community Enrichment Scholarship are now open.
The scholarship is open to all high school seniors from each public high school in Berkshire and Columbia counties, with the monetary award applied toward tuition at a state or nationally accredited two- or four-year college or university. Greylock also awards two scholarships to seniors who plan to enroll in a two-year program at an accredited technical, vocational or trade school. Last year, Greylock awarded a total of $21,000 to 33 students from across the region.
Applicants must be a Greylock member in good standing and demonstrate an outstanding level of community commitment and volunteer service.
Maddie Digrigoli from Lenox High School was a 2025 recipient. She noted that the scholarship "took some of the financial burden away, allowing me to focus on my studies and take advantage of enriching opportunities."
Maddie is currently studying business but is an undecided major. She shared with Greylock that the scholarship has given her a little breathing room, allowing her to explore different fields to help narrow down specific interest through participation in clubs such as women in business, women society of finance and the accounting society.
"I have had the opportunity to participate in a pitch competition presented to industry professionals along with working with PwC, one of the big four accounting firms, on a case competition where I designed a potential solution to a real company's problem," said Maddie.
When asked how she felt receiving the scholarship, she was quick to share, "I felt truly grateful. It felt like a moment of support from my community making me feel like they truly cared about my future pursuits."
James Daoust, who attended Wahconah Regional High School, said that Greylock's "recognition of my efforts helped me to follow my dreams."
Maddie had this piece of guidance for future applicants.
"The application process feels very intimidating at first but as you slowly pick away at applications you realize they really aren't as scary as they seem. Definitely submit that application! Be true to yourself and your own interests."
