Greylock Federal Credit Union is offering two free workshops in August to help prepare future homeowners and assist with management of finances.
At 5:30 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, " Aprendra a manejar sus finanzas!" will be taught in Spanish at the Community Empowerment Center (CEC), located at 75 Kellogg St. in Pittsfield. The class covers building a budget, allocating funds, and saving through games and exercises that present an overall understanding of financial wellness.
"Preparing for Homeownership" will be presented via Zoom at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 19. The class is designed for individuals looking to purchase a home in the next two years. It addresses budgeting, building strong credit, insurance needs, owning a single-family homes versus a duplex, and more.
